Great Grottos operate Christmas Grottos throughout the UK.
We need your help…
FATHER CHRISTMAS:
We hire over 200 Santas each year. Many they tell us it’s the best job they’ve ever had.
This incredibly rewarding role involves welcoming families, handing out gifts, posing for photos and asking children what they’d like for Christmas. Assistance is always provided by Santa’s Visit Elf.
- Our Santas receive an amazing handmade costume. We have every size.
- Padded bellies are provided if needed, along with spare costume parts, to keep our Santas looking perfect.
- Experience is not essential.
- Minimum age for consideration is 28.
- A warm heart & gentle demeanour are necessary.
- Full training is provided. Santa dialogue guide available for all new Santas.
Full and part-time positions are available. You can work as much or little as you wish. We need Santas with all types of availability.
We pay for your DBS check and you can be PAYE or Self Employed.

SANTA’S ELF:
Are you friendly & love meeting people? Would you enjoying greeting children & helping Santa?
The position of Santa’s Elf allows you to explore an imaginative performance role whilst delivering exceptional customer service.
Great Grottos provide you with a fabulous handmade and sized costume to help you to portray your character.
Santa’s team of Elves are responsible for:
- Welcoming families to Santa’s Grotto.
- Creating a memorable experience.
- Taking photos of every family.
- Restocking Santa’s sacks.
- Proving customer information.
- Waving at passing children.
- Interaction and improvisation with children.
Full and part-time positions are available. Full training is provided. Wages are paid every two weeks.

GROTTO MANAGER:
We always require well-organised individuals with people management skills to run our Christmas Grottos.
The goal of the Grotto event is to create individual and magical experiences for each family. And to ensure that all Grotto staff work towards this. As part of this, the Grotto Manager:
- Oversees all staff.
- Serves customers at the till point.
- Demonstrates exemplary customer service.
- Performs banking and opening/closing procedures.
- Allocates costumes.
- Is always aware of the time.
- Makes sure the Grotto is always looking tidy.
- Represents the team throughout the busy Christmas period in a fast-paced retail environment.
Previous management experience is not essential. Full training is provided for this position.
